This has been one of the most productive weekends I have experienced in a long long time.
It started Friday night, Roxy has a movie night in her school, Anurag and I dropped her and her friend over to the Stevens campus in Hoboken. They were going to see "The Smurfs Movie". After that we went for our own movie night and saw "Silver linings playbook" starring Brandley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro. All I can say is that its a chick-flick and please don't go watching this movie thinking its anything anymore than that. Overall good entertainment but not really oscar material.
Saturday morning the kids had their usual pancake for breakfast which Anurag so religiously makes for them and they generally devour it.
Saturday 11:00am I took the girls ice skating. Roxy is of course doing very well but even Romy has gotten quite comfortable on the ice, she waddles around like a penguin and sometimes in a rage to catch hold of me literally sprints across! :)
Saturday 12:30pm we (me the kids and my mom) went over for Elizabeth's first birthday party at Wild at Play. The kids had a ball and so did I. There was good wine and such delicious samosas.
Saturday 3:00pm, I took Roxy and my Mom to a show I had booked a few weeks back at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, NJ. It was a theatrical performance of the The Little Prince. I had read this book many many years ago and it was so excited to take Roxy see the performance. Although we hit into bad traffic on our way in and missed the beginning, overall it was very well done and the production was simply beautiful.
Saturday 7:00pm, we had dinner plans with the Rathi's. We went to the city for a nice peruvian cuisine dinner at La Mar Cebicheria Peruana. We practically had everything on the menu that was vegetarian. I would recommend this place to at least try out the flavors. It was good food, good ambiance and alright service.
Sunday 7:45am, we left with Roxy to go to Camel Back Ski Resort for skiing. We reached their right on time for the kids group class at 10:00am. Roxy has come ways this season in just 3 visits and is skiing very well, she is able to stop, make very good s-turns and is able to take the chair lifts up with us. We reached back home at 5pm and now just relaxing.
We were able to do all this only because my Mom is here and has been very supportive!
She is visiting us over the winter from India even though its very cold here and I cannot thank her enough!
