Burberry from 1856 to 2012!

I have always loved the Burberry check/plaid/tartan pattern, I find it rather lively and youthful and always like to follow their designs for handbags, raincoats and rain boots.

If you like Burberry, this is my recommendation for the season for a working girl or a working Mom (Moms are always working :))

Burberry "Haymarket Suede" Tote available in a few shades at Nordstrom

Dimensions from the Burberry site:
10.4 x 11.8 x 6.3in

The Burberry Rainboot also available at Nordstrom

This is such a classy boot, it doesn't scream Burberry but makes a subtle reference.

And if you are up for a little indulgence, this is so cute!

UGG® Australia 'Bailey Charms' Boot

This season's new twist on the Bailey button UGG is the "Bailey Charm" and it quite cute with a $20 differential. Well I would recommend them and if the difference is not looking worth it, just think of letting go of 4 visits to Starbucks!

Very comfortable, warm and the Harissa (shown below) and Night (light purple) are really cool colors. Enjoy the winters in them!

Romy's surgeries

After a lot of conflict with in us and fighting it for a year, we finally gave in.....

Romy has been prone to ear infections since she was a baby, initially it wasn't that often since she was at home and the idea of putting in tubes in her ears was not something we had given much thought to.

Once she went to River School (daycare) in September of 2011 part time she had 4 ear infections in 3 months and another thing we noticed that she had a continuous cold for 2 months in a row and after that she was always breathing from her nose. We were sent to an ENT by our pediatrician in January'12.

The ENT doctor recommended we get her tubes and also remove her adenoids for better breathing.
Since we were not keen on that he recommended we take her out of school and work with nasal saline sprays and nasonex. We did that and voila, her ear infections didn't occur and she was breathing better.

This September we put her back in River School and the ear infections were back and her cold and with that her breathing was getting very difficult thought her nose. We went back to the ENT and again he recommended the two surgeries.

This time we gave in.... it made sense... Romy was suffering....

Yesterday we had her surgeries, the Adenoid removal as well as putting the tubes in her ear. It was an outpatient surgery and after 3 hours in the recovery room we got home. She is in much better spirits today. Let's home the coming days are good and she is able to get back to school and the ear infections don't bother her anymore.

We love you my darling Romy and wish you recover real fast!

Love,
Mamma

7 Day Detox Diet

I have been trying to loose weight for quite sometime now and have tried exercising and a bit of dieting and so on and so forth. Not much happened of course as I am just not as self disciplined as I hoped I could be. So I finally gave in and starting training with a gym instructor to force me to exercise. Its been only two sessions thus far but the instructor sent me some information on "eating right". One such email was about a 7 day detox diet. I decided to pursue it, was a little hard in the beginning but made it through with some cheating :)

Little Ladies Tea Party

I recently had a little girls so to speak "high tea" at my place.

Ever since I got the little ceremic tea set, Roxy and I have been toying with the idea. Finally it all came together last Sunday.

Roxy and Romy decided on the friends they wanted to invite and I send out the invitation to the little girls moms. All of them made it. It was drop off party.

The invitation read:

Your little ladies are cordially invited to
Roxy and Romy's Afternoon Tea Party
On December 9th from 4pm to 6pm.

Dress code: Your most puffiest and frilliest dress!

Menu:
Lukewarm jasmine tea - very light
Roxy's mint tea - water with Mint leaves
Homemade french vanilla cup cakes

Homemade Chocolate tea cake
Itty bitty Bread and butter sandwiches
Itty bitty jam/organic marmalade sandwiches
Cheese plate with strawberries

The girls arrived on time in style and they had a ball. Roxy's mint tea was a huge success, the girls couldn't get enough of it!

Another thing that really was a lot of fun for all of them was decorating their cup-cakes (which I had baked upfront). I gave them rainbow sprinkles and tiny M&Ms along with the icing tubes.

Anurag and Shika took some amazing pictures! Overall a fun evening with the little ladies.

The tea pots!!!

The table is all set for the eight little girls!
Yummm.. these are the toppings for the cupcake - M&Ms and Rainbow sprinkles!
The cute golden vanilla cupcakes ready for the decorations, the kids loved the toothpicks and wanted to take them home.
Roxy enjoying her cupcake!
Romy enjoying her cup-a-tea!
