In pursuit of fashionable & fun handbags!

Hi! today we talk about Rebecca Minkoff, I have really liked her stuff for a while now but have to confess most of it was online so was not really sure of the quality though there have been numerous celebrity citing wearing it at numerous times :)

The leather tassels are a very good touch and one could mistake it for Balenciaga at first sight!

Her big success came in 2005 when she brought the "Morning After Bag", today that is still quite a favorite and comes in some really cool hues, check this out at Nordstrom

I was finally able to see the quality in person this week and was very pleasantly surprised, the basket weave she uses quite bit is done beautifully and also the colors are to die for. See some of my favorite styles:

M.A.C Shoulder bag also available at
Nordstrom

Perforated M.A.C clutch available at Zappos in various hues
The Honey Clutch with the lovely tassel with wooden beads. This clutch has enough room for your smart phone, make-up essentials and could also fit a three fold wallet. Absolutely love the weave and would go beautifully with your little black dress!

Available at Zappos

New York City Skyline

Many years ago (I have lost track how many) I had given Anurag a Photography class at Photo Manhattan for his birthday and that was the day and today is the day....

He has come ways and I have seen his photography evolve. The last three years has been quite a leap in how professional he has gotten but this piece is by far the most impressive I have seen in landscape photography. Specially the final product!

The size is 72' x 24' printed on metal (Aluminum) and will be hung on the wall right behind, horizontally of course :)

Let me tell you, it wasn't easy getting this image enlarged to this size, he used a special software to enhance the image and then we got proofs of various different prints on Aluminum (Glossy, Semi-glossy, Glazed etc.) from Image Wizards, after that we decided and voila, here we have it!

What a weekend!

This has been one of the most productive weekends I have experienced in a long long time.

It started Friday night, Roxy has a movie night in her school, Anurag and I dropped her and her friend over to the Stevens campus in Hoboken. They were going to see "The Smurfs Movie". After that we went for our own movie night and saw "Silver linings playbook" starring Brandley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro. All I can say is that its a chick-flick and please don't go watching this movie thinking its anything anymore than that. Overall good entertainment but not really oscar material.

Saturday morning the kids had their usual pancake for breakfast which Anurag so religiously makes for them and they generally devour it.

Saturday 11:00am I took the girls ice skating. Roxy is of course doing very well but even Romy has gotten quite comfortable on the ice, she waddles around like a penguin and sometimes in a rage to catch hold of me literally sprints across! :)

Saturday 12:30pm we (me the kids and my mom) went over for Elizabeth's first birthday party at Wild at Play. The kids had a ball and so did I. There was good wine and such delicious samosas.

Saturday 3:00pm, I took Roxy and my Mom to a show I had booked a few weeks back at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, NJ. It was a theatrical performance of the The Little Prince. I had read this book many many years ago and it was so excited to take Roxy see the performance. Although we hit into bad traffic on our way in and missed the beginning, overall it was very well done and the production was simply beautiful.

Saturday 7:00pm, we had dinner plans with the Rathi's. We went to the city for a nice peruvian cuisine dinner at  La Mar Cebicheria Peruana. We practically had everything on the menu that was vegetarian. I would recommend this place to at least try out the flavors. It was good food, good ambiance and alright service.

Sunday 7:45am, we left with Roxy to go to Camel Back Ski Resort for skiing. We reached their right on time for the kids group class at 10:00am. Roxy has come ways this season in just 3 visits and is skiing very well, she is able to stop, make very good s-turns and is able to take the chair lifts up with us. We reached back home at 5pm and now just relaxing.

We were able to do all this only because my Mom is here and has been very supportive!
She is visiting us over the winter from India even though its very cold here and I cannot thank her enough!
